I build and repair e-commerce systems, mostly Magento, and I write up the parts that usually go unrecorded: the integration that fought back, the assumption that turned out to be wrong, and what the measurements actually said.

Every number arrives with the table it came from. Where several things changed at once, the post says so instead of telling the simpler story.

Sometimes the subject is not software at all. The thread is systems you cannot understand by taking them apart.
